The Urban Forest creates music from trees in Melbourne.
Audiences experienced 72,000 trees in the form of 3D sound from 67 speakers and performers from Speak Percussion.
The work explores four spaces around Melbourne, using the City of Melbourne’s Open Tree Data to generate sound from data.
The Urban Forest was presented as part of the David Li Sound Gallery Commission 2021, presented by MLIVE in association with Speak Percussion and MUMA. The work was performed and interpreted by Kaylie Melville, Zela Papageorgiou, Eugene Ughetti and and Hamish Upton.
